NMMS Scholarship 2024

Funding: The National Means-cum-Merit Scholarship Scheme NMMSS is centrally sponsored, with the Central Government bearing 100% of the financial assistance

Scholarship Amount: Students who are selected under this scheme receive a scholarship of ₹12,000 per annum (₹1,000 per month)

Class: The scholarship is awarded to students who are studying in class 8.

Age Limit: There is no specific age limit mentioned, but students typically eligible are in the age group of 13-14 years

Annual Family Income: The annual family income of the student’s parents should not exceed ₹3,50,000 from all sources

Minimum Qualifying Marks: Students must secure a minimum of 55% marks or equivalent grade in Class 7 examination to be eligible to appear for the selection test.

Reservation: As per the central government norms, reservations are provided for students belonging to SC, ST, and other categories as per government rules.
Encouragement of Education: The main aim is to encourage economically weaker students to continue their studies at the secondary level and reduce dropout rates after Class 8.

Promote Academic Excellence: The scheme seeks to promote academic excellence and uplift the educational status of students from economically disadvantaged backgrounds.
